The Congress on Tuesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi not attending the G7 Summit is another diplomatic failure between India and Pakistan after allowing the US to “mediate”. For the first time in the last six years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend the upcoming G7 Summit to be held in Alberta province of Canada. People aware of the case gave this information on Monday.
Let us know that Canada is hosting the summit from 15 to 17 June, which is expected to discuss the challenges facing the world including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the situation in West Asia.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on ‘X’, “The G7 Summit of the Presidents of Presidents of America and France, Prime Ministers of Britain, Japan, Italy and Canada and Chancellor of Germany is being held in Alberta, Canada since June 15, 2025. The summit is also invited to the President of Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Australia. ”He said that before 2014, G7 was actually G8 for many years before 2014 as it also included Russia.
Ramesh said, “Dr. Manmohan Singh was invited for the G8 Summit where his voice was heard. In June 2007, one such summit in Germany was unveiled the famous ‘Singh-Markel Formule’ for climate change talks. “He said,” The tradition of inviting Indian Prime Ministers continued even after 2014. But now for the first time in 6 years, ‘Vishwaguru’ will not attend the Canadian summit. Even if efforts are made to rotate things, the fact is that it is another major diplomatic failure.
Ramesh claimed that this failure was seen when the US was allowed to change the Indian foreign policy for years by mediation between India and Pakistan and the mistake of agreeing to negotiate on the ‘neutral site’.
