Srinagar, September 6 (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. In this, he explained in detail about the schemes to be implemented if the party comes to power. Meanwhile, he said in a stern tone that all the parties that have been in power here till now have only done the politics of appeasement and have hurt the interests of the people.
While releasing the Sankalp Patra, Amit Shah said, “River front will be built in Jammu and amusement park in Kashmir. Dal lake will be developed at world level. Our government will bring Maa Samman Yojana. Apart from this, two cylinders will be given under Ujjwala Yojana. Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to students studying in coaching institutes, so that they do not have to face any kind of financial difficulties. Herbal Ayush Park will be built in Kishtwar. A tourism spot will be developed in Rajouri. At the same time, financial assistance of Rs 18,000 will be provided to housewives and three thousand rupees will be given to college students every year, so that there is no hindrance in their studies.”
Along with this, he especially stressed that the reservation of Gujjars, Bakkarwals and Paharis in Kashmir valley will not be taken away. There is a widespread improvement in Kashmir. Incidents of stone pelting have reduced. The backbone of terrorism has been broken.
He said, “BJP’s 10 years have been dedicated to good governance. During our tenure, the tourism industry has grown in the Union Territory. This has benefited the residents here on a large scale on the economic front.”
Releasing the Sankalp Patra, Amit Shah said, “I have read the manifesto of the National Conference. It is clear that they are only trying to mislead the people.”
Shah said in a stern tone, “I want to make it clear that Article 370 will not be restored in Jammu and Kashmir at any cost, no matter what happens. After the abrogation of Article 370, terrorism has been broken. Now if any political party tries to restore it after coming to power here, then I have no hesitation in saying that terrorism will once again get a boost in the valley.”
He further said, “Till 2014, the valley was suffering due to the havoc of terrorism, but the changes that have taken place in the valley from 2014 to 2024 will be recorded as history. The events that have taken place in the valley till now will be recorded as historical events. In the last 10 years, our party has given special emphasis on the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir while being in power. Even after the abrogation of Article 370, some people came to the valley, but they are not trying to understand the positive change.”
Taking a dig at the Congress, Shah said, “I am sad to say that the Congress has given silent support to this (National Conference’s manifesto), which is sad. At present, the biggest need of Jammu and Kashmir is education. Keeping this in mind, our party has recognized 59 colleges in the valley in the last 10 years, so that the reach of education can be expanded.”
He further said, “Jammu and Kashmir has been an important territory for our party not just today but since the time of independence. Since independence, we have pledged to make this part an integral part of India. From Pandit Premnath Dogra to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, everyone has sacrificed their lives to establish peace in the valley.”
The Union Home Minister appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said, “If you give five years to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I assure you that you will feel amazing changes in your lives.”
