AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar dismissed these claims and described them as “absolutely wrong” amid speculation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal seeking Rajya Sabha seat.
He said, “Arvind Kejriwal is not going to Rajya Sabha. As far as Arvind Kejriwal is concerned, first media sources were saying that he will become the Chief Minister of Punjab. Now media sources are saying that he will contest from Rajya Sabha. Is wrong. Arvind Kejriwal is a national convenor.
Speculation started after the Aam Aadmi Party made Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora a candidate for the Ludhiana West Assembly by -election. There was speculation that Sanjeev Arora’s Rajya Sabha seat will go to the account of AAP convenor.
Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal on Monday targeted the BJP and alleged that BR Ambedkar’s picture had been removed from all government offices including the Chief Minister’s Office and Assembly.
He claimed that the new government led by the BJP removed the picture of the first Law Minister of the country from the office of the Chief Minister of Delhi and BR. Millions of followers of Ambedkar have been hurt.
Earlier in its X post, the former Delhi Chief Minister wrote, “The new BJP government of Delhi removed the photo of Baba Saheb and put a photo of Prime Minister Modi. It is not correct. This has hurt millions of followers of Baba Saheb.”
AAP Supremo requested BJP not to remove Ambedkar’s picture, saying, “I have a request to BJP. You can put a picture of the Prime Minister, but do not remove Babasaheb’s picture. Let his picture stay there.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demonstrated outside the Delhi Assembly with a picture of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. This happened on Tuesday when the BJP government led by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) on the Delhi Excise Policy.
Between the huge slogans, Speaker Vijendra Gupta suspended 21 MLAs till 28 February. He further informed that a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of 12 to 14 members of the ruling and opposition parties will be formed soon.
