New Delhi, November 24 (IANS). Three people died in the violence that broke out during the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday morning. The angry mob set fire to many vehicles. Police fired tear gas shells and lathicharged to control the crowd.
On this incident, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi reacted to the ongoing violence in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.
Asaduddin Owaisi said in a post on social media platform We strongly condemn the firing by the Uttar Pradesh Police on people protesting in Sambhal. Three young men have died.”
Asaduddin Owaisi further said that he prays to Allah that Allah grants forgiveness to the deceased and grants patience to her family members. There should be an impartial investigation into this accident. Action should be taken against the officers who are responsible.”
Let us inform that due to the court-ordered survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal on Sunday morning, violent clashes took place between the local people and the police, in which three people died. About 20 policemen have been injured in stone pelting.
Moradabad Commissioner Anjaneya Singh, while talking to the media, said that on the orders of the court, the survey of Jama Masjid was to be conducted from 7 am to 11 am on Sunday. On the orders of the court, the survey team came here under the leadership of Advocate Commissioner. Adequate security force was also accompanying the team. DM and Superintendent of Police were also present.
The team reached Jama Masjid to conduct the survey. Everything was fine in the beginning. The survey took place for about two hours. At the same time a crowd gathered there. In the beginning people started raising some slogans. After some time, stone pelting started there. However, the crowd could not reach the mosque premises. The police dispersed the crowd.
When the team left after 11 o’clock after doing the survey, people started pelting stones. Police used force to disperse the crowd. At present the situation is under control. So far 15 people have been detained. These people are being interrogated.
