Gaza, October 19 (IANS). At least 33 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air strike on the Jabaliya camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday evening.
Xinhua news agency, citing a statement issued by the media office, said, “21 women were also among those killed.” Apart from this, there are also reports of many people trapped under debris and buildings, due to which the total number of deaths may reach 50. More than 85 people have been injured in the bombing, some of whom are seriously injured.
It said Israeli forces bombed several houses in the Jabaliya camp.
The Israeli army has not yet commented on the incident.
Israel is launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas rampage on the southern Israeli border on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostage.
The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 42,500, Gaza-based health officials said in a statement on Friday.
