Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday warned that the trend of electoral manipulation seen in Maharashtra can also be repeated in Bihar. Speaking at the Bihar bandh rally, Rahul Gandhi said that the way votes were stolen in Maharashtra elections, similar efforts are being made in Bihar.
Rahul Gandhi also questioned the increase in the number of voters between Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Maharashtra and alleged that the BJP got all the newly connected votes. He claimed that despite the majority in the Lok Sabha, intensive data was reviewed due to poor performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance in the Maharashtra assembly elections, detection of suspected voting patterns.
He also said that one crore new voters were added between Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and 10 percent more people voted in the assembly elections.
Speaking at the Bihar bandh rally, Rahul Gandhi said, “Assembly elections were held in Maharashtra and Haryana soon after Lok Sabha elections. In the Lok Sabha elections, India alliance got majority in Maharashtra. But a few months later, in the assembly elections, India alliance performed poorly. We did not say much at that time, but we started working and started investigating the matter. We started studying the 21st century, so we started studying. That one crore new voters were added to the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Gandhi accused the Election Commission of preventing important voter data and booth videography from the Maharashtra assembly elections, and accused of irregularity in voter registration.
He said, “We have come to Bihar, where people have been martyred for the Constitution. Our Constitution states that every citizen of India has the right to vote. I want to tell the people of India and Bihar that the way Maharashtra was stolen, similarly an attempt is being made to steal the election of Bihar. There is a way of, but they do not know that it is Bihar, and people of Bihar will never let this happen. “
He claimed that thousands of voters have been registered in the same building, while the names of poor voters have been removed, and despite repeated requests, the commission has remained silent and even changed the rules of videography to “hide the truth”.
Gandhi said, “4,000 to 5,000 voters were registered in some buildings. Meanwhile, the votes of poor people were removed. When we asked the Election Commission for voter list and videography of polling stations, they kept completely silent. Not once, but many times we asked them that we say the law. Videography rules have also changed, as they want to hide the truth. “
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha (LOP) Rahul Gandhi, along with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, led the ‘Bihar bandh’ in Patna against the decision of the Election Commission (ECI) of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list before the Bihar assembly elections on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Bihar bandh rally, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Today, Bihar bandh has been called to pay attention to how the Election Commission has become a ‘dock commission’. The NDA is losing, so they are using the Election Commission. Preparations are being made to remove the names of the poor of Bihar on the instructions of Modi ji, Amit Shah and Nitish Kumar ji.”
Yadav said, “It is a conspiracy to cut votes of about crores of voters, which belong to the poor community, standing at the bottom of the society like Dalits, Backward Classes or Extremely Backward Classes.”
He also said that the NDA alliance is preparing to cut votes of 4.5 crore people who go to other states for livelihood.
Tejashwi Yadav also thanked India alliance colleagues, especially Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, for attending the Bihar bandh rally. Yadav said, “We want to thank everyone in the Grand Alliance, especially Rahul ji, who in today’s Bihar bandh stands shoulder to shoulder with revolutionaries.”
Many senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav and Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D Raja, CPI (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation leader Dipankar Bhattacharya, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram, Kanhaiya Kumar and Sanjay Yadav also participated in the protests.
CPI General Secretary D Raja accused the central government led by PM Modi of supporting businessmen Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani instead of poor people. “The Modi government is supporting Ambani and Adani but not of poor people.”
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India said that it is very likely that the work of collecting the calculation form will be completed before the last day.
According to ECI, special intensive revision (SIR) in Bihar is moving well, 3,70,77,077 calculations were collected in 14 days after the SIR instructions were issued on June 24, which is 46.95 percent of the total 7,89,69,844 (about 7.90 crore) voters in Bihar.
