Delhi News Desk!!! Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 tablets manufactured by Life Max Cancer Laboratories have failed Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) tests. CDSCO has published its September report. In this report, 49 medicines have been identified, which have not met the standards. CDSCO had tested a total of 3000 medicines this month, in which 49 medicines failed the quality test.
Apart from this, CDSCO has also identified four medicines which are being manufactured by fake companies. Keeping in mind the public interest, CDSCO has asked to take back the defective medicines. CDSCO chief Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi said only 1 per cent of medicines are failing the tests. This shows that CDSCO’s efforts to curb substandard and counterfeit medicines are proving effective.
Among the drugs identified by CDSCO, Metronidazole tablets of Hindustan Antibiotics, Domperidone tablets of Rainbow Life Sciences and Oxytocin injection of Pushkar Pharma are also failing the test.
Other medications included metmorphine, calcium 500 mg from Swiss Biotech Parenterals and vitamin D3 250 IU tablets from Life Max Cancer Laboratories. Along with this, Pan 40 tablets of Alkem Labs have also been found to be fake. Paracetamol tablets of Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited were also found to be of poor quality.
Apart from these, other medicines include gauze roll, non-sterine roller bandage and diclofenac sodium tablet. This activity of CDSCO is a monthly vigilance activity.
