Milkipur By Election: By-election has been announced for Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya. Voting for Milkipur seat will be held on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8. Political parties are trying their best to grab Milkipur assembly seat. This seat is neck and neck for the Bharatiya Janata Party. Through this seat she is trying to regain her lost prestige.
At the same time, this seat of Samajwadi Party is important for him also. She wants to prove her strength by maintaining her dominance on this seat. At the same time, BSP and Congress are not included in this Milkipur by-election. However, Azad Samaj Party has definitely created some trouble for SP by fielding its candidate. Because the candidate of Azad Samaj Party is a rebel of SP.
Regarding Milkipur assembly seat, it is said that only the leader of Pasi community occupies this seat. Because the population of Pasi community is high in this area. In such a situation, all the parties are focusing on the Pasi community only. BJP has also fielded Chandrabhan Paswan of Pasi community. BJP may be excited by the Pasi card but looking at the political career behind Awadhesh Prasad, this can only be termed as excessive enthusiasm. Because in the assembly elections held in Sohawal and Milkipur since 1985, eight times the opposition parties including BJP played the Pasi card against Awadhesh Prasad but no one could get success.
Everyone’s moves failed in front of Awadhesh Prasad.
Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad has contested 13 assembly elections since 1974. Of these, he has achieved victory nine times. Awadhesh Prasad has reached the assembly seven times by winning from Sohawal seat. He contested thrice from Milkipur assembly seat. In which he has won twice. If we look at the previous elections, almost every time the major political parties have fielded a candidate from the Pasi community in front of Awadhesh Prasad. Eight of these times Awadhesh Prasad foiled the political moves of political parties.
Became MLA for the first time in 1977
If we look at the political career of MP Avadhesh Prasad, he entered the election field for the first time in the year 1974. But he lost to Congress candidate Hubraj Kori. But he did not accept defeat and in the year 1977 again contested elections from Janata Party and defeated Hubraj and became MLA for the first time. However, in the 1980 elections, Madhav Prasad of Pasi community defeated him. Still he remained adamant. 1
In 1985 and 1989, he defeated many others including Madhav Prasad and reached the assembly. In 1991, due to Ram wave, Awadhesh Prasad was defeated by BJP’s Pasi community candidate Ramu Priyadarshi. Even after this, Awadhesh Prasad continued to become MLA in 1993, 1996, 2002 and 2007. During this period, Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Ramu Priyadarshi of Pasi community in 1993 and 2002 but he had to face defeat.
In the 2007 assembly elections, BJP placed its bet on Usha Rawat of Pasi community against Awadhesh Prasad. Then Ramu Priyadarshi entered the electoral battle on BSP ticket. But Awadhesh Prasad foiled everyone’s efforts. Milkipur seat was declared safe in the year 2012. Awadhesh Prasad contested from Milkipur seat. Then BJP again fielded Ramu Priyadarshi of Pasi community to defeat him. But he lost again.
After this, in the 2017 assembly elections, BJP again played its bet on Gorakhnath Baba of Pasi community in front of Awadhesh Prasad. This time BJP won and Gorakhnath Baba became MLA. But Awadhesh Prasad took revenge of the defeat in the 2022 assembly elections and again won from Milkipur seat. Due to these records of Avadhesh Prasad, Samajwadi Party is very excited about Milkipur by-election. At the same time, BJP has again played the Pasi card in the by-election for this seat. Now it remains to be seen whether BJP will win in Milkipur Assembly by-election or as usual its move will backfire.
