Higher Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Yogendra Upadhyay said on Sunday that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was not only the constitution maker of India, but he was also a great social reformer, thinker and just leader who fought against social inequality throughout his life.
The minister also said that Babasaheb considered education as the main means of social change.
Upadhyay was addressing the people after flagging off the state level “Jai Bhim Padayatra” from Marine Drive intersection in Lucknow on Sunday.
In his address on this occasion, Upadhyay said, “Dr. Ambedkar gave the message of ‘Be educated, stay organized and struggle”, he is the biggest pioneer for today’s youth. “
This padyatra was organized a day before the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb, in which hundreds of youth participated enthusiastically.
According to an official statement issued here, the minister, while stepping with the youth, conducted a padyatra from Marine Drive Square to Ambedkar Smriti Sthal, which aims to bring social justice, equality and the values of the Constitution to the people.
The program started the program with a silent tribute by offering flowers at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar at the social change symbol site. After this, he collected a collective reading of the preamble of the Constitution with the youth and while highlighting the life of Babasaheb, he put his thoughts in front of the people present.
Higher Education Minister said, “There has been a sense of social harmony and equality in nature since the beginning. Baba Saheb empowered this idea through fundamental rights and duties in the Constitution. “
He called upon the youth to play their active role in building an inclusive society by assimilating the values of the Constitution. He said, “India is one and we have to establish equivalent, Mamatamayi society.”
The minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Baba Saheb’s views are being transported from door to door through events like ‘Jai Bhim Padayatra’ across the country.
He said that this padyatra is not only a tribute, but a public awareness campaign that inspires the youth for social equality, fraternity and democratic values.
