New Delhi, September 6 (IANS). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently released the first list of 67 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections. This time the party did not give a ticket to wrestler Babita Phogat. BJP has given Sunil Sangwan a ticket from Charkhi-Dadri assembly seat instead of Babita Phogat. Babita Phogat gave her first reaction on the social media platform X after not getting the ticket.
He wrote in an X post on Friday, “The party is bigger than the individual and the country is bigger than the party, this is my party’s message to everyone!!”
Babita Phogat further wrote, “I stand by the decision of the top leadership of my Bharatiya Janata Party. Being a dedicated party worker, I will continue to discharge every responsibility given by the organization. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the God-like people of my assembly constituency Charkhi-Dadri – Janardan, who always gave me their infinite love and blessings like their daughter and sister. I will always be ready to serve you in the future as well. Jai Hind – Jai Bharat.”
Let us tell you that just before the 2019 assembly elections, wrestler Babita Phogat joined the BJP. She contested from Charkhi-Dadri assembly seat on a BJP ticket. However, she was not successful in winning the election.
Sunil Sangwan, who recently took VRS, has been made the BJP candidate from this seat. He is trying his luck from Charkhi-Dadri seat, which was his father’s political karmabhoomi.
Voting for all 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be held in a single phase on October 5. The election results will be declared on October 8.
