Before this time’s assembly elections in Haryana, the Congress has tried to politically deal with Kumari Selja, who is considered to be the party’s strong Dalit face, under a very well thought out strategy. Kumari Selja is considered to be a grassroots leader, but to maintain the dominance of former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda in the party, the top leadership of the Congress has exposed its anti-Dalit mentality by sidelining Selja.
Shailaja was becoming active before the assembly elections. But the way efforts have been made to marginalize her suddenly, the party cannot wash its hands off this entire incident by calling it an internal matter. It is clearly visible that in Haryana, the party, under the influence of the Hooda camp, has tried to ignore the contribution of the Dalit and woman leader as a part of a strategy, so that the party’s power center remains in the hands of some favorite and powerful leaders.
‘Hooda is Congress, Congress is Hooda’
It is not hidden from anyone that how Congress in Haryana has become Bhupendra Singh Hooda’s pocket organization. He has complete control over it, hence a big conspiracy has been hatched to eliminate Kumari Shailja politically. Shailja has devoted her entire political life to the party with loyalty, but the reality is that today Haryana Congress means- ‘Hooda is Congress, Congress is Hooda’.
Among the Congress candidates, 72 are Hooda’s loyalists, only 9 close aides of Shailja got a chance
The proof of this is that out of the 90 seats in Haryana, 89 seats on which Congress is contesting elections, 72 candidates are said to be close to Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Whereas only 9 candidates of Sirsa MP Kumari Selja have been able to make it to the Congress list.
Congress’s anti-Dalit face exposed!
What status Kumari Selja has today in Haryana Congress because of the Hooda camp can be seen in some recent events. She wanted the party to give ticket to Vidya Rani Danoda from Narwana and Himmat Singh from Ambala City. Selja had publicly expressed her support for them. Yet the way their tickets were cut shows how the Hooda camp has completely taken control of the party, where a Dalit leader like Kumari Selja has been deliberately allowed to be humiliated.
Hooda camp takes over Haryana Congress!
Today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is busy trying to prove himself as the messiah of the oppressed and the deprived. He is also trying to find the number of Dalits among ‘Miss India’ and ‘news anchors’. His political career is stuck on caste, caste and caste. But, within his own party, the voice of a strong Dalit leader has been suppressed, that too a woman leader, but the top leadership of Congress does not even have the courage to speak against Hooda.
Kumari Shailaja did not even get a ticket for herself
Since the Lok Sabha elections, Kumari Selja was continuously projecting herself as a contender for the post of Chief Minister. Despite being an MP, she was also expressing her desire to contest the assembly elections. But, it is said that the order issued by the leadership to MPs not to contest the elections was aimed at eliminating Selja before the race even begins.
Kumari Shailaja was sidelined as part of a well thought out strategy!
Today the reality is that the way Haryana Congress has ignored Kumari Selja is not a personal insult to her, but a strategy to keep a Dalit leader away from the mainstream of the party, which is being expressed through Hooda. The incident in Haryana is exposing the tricks, face and character of Congress.
Even in the Lok Sabha elections, the Hooda camp prevailed arbitrarily
The dominance of the Hooda camp in ticket distribution in Haryana Congress has been exposed in the Lok Sabha elections as well. Shailaja herself has said that if the tickets were distributed in the right manner, the performance of the Congress could have been better. Even then, Hooda’s will prevailed in ticket distribution. Without naming anyone, Shailaja had also accused the Hooda camp of giving tickets to at least two outsiders. Congress leaders may talk big, but when it comes to giving proper representation to Dalits, the mask of hypocrisy on the faces of these leaders falls off. The real thing is that Hooda’s interests are being served by Haryana Congress, because through Hooda, the Congress high command is engaged in serving its own interests.
