Actress Neetu Chandra has filed a PIL in Patna High Court complaining against alleged obscenity in the recently released song ‘Maniq’ by singer Yoyo Honey Singh.
The petition will be heard at the end of this month.
The public interest litigation also includes the names of Singh and the people who supported the songs with him, including the names of lyricists Leo Grewal and Bhojpuri singers Ragini Vishwakarma and Arjun Stranger.
Actress Neetu requested the court to direct the defendants to ‘amend the song’.
Neetu, who has worked in many Bollywood films, has also produced some Bhojpuri and Maithili films acclaimed by critics.
The petition alleged that the song ‘openly reflects sexual abuse’.
