On the 29th Foundation Day of RJD, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party once again returned to the top. He was declared the 13th National President of the party at a national executive meeting held in Bapu Auditorium in Patna on Saturday. Election Officer Dr. Ramchandra Purave appointed him unopposed and handed over the certificate. The meeting started with the lighting of the lamp by Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and other senior leaders. After this, Lalu and Rabri greeted the workers from the stage and filled the organization enthusiasm.
Nomination was filed on 23 June
Significantly, the party’s reins were once again being speculated for some time about Lalu’s arrival in the hands of Lalu. Given their poor health and age, there were speculation of leadership change. However, on 23 June, Lalu filed nomination for the post of president at the party office in Patna and put a stop to these speculation. No other candidate nominated after which he was elected unopposed president.
