Patna, March 20 (IANS). Jan Suraj Party President Prashant Kishore on Wednesday announced his candidates for the Patna University Students Union (PUSU) election.
According to the announcement, Divesh Dinu will contest for the post of president, Mohammad Danish Wasim will contest for the post of Vice President, Ritambana Roy (General Secretary), Anu Kumari (Joint Secretary) and Brijesh Kumar (Treasurer) will contest elections.
During the announcement, Prashant Kishore attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Criticizing the ruling JDU-BJP alliance, Kishore said, “JDU could not even find a candidate for the student union election.”
He convicted both Nitish Kumar and BJP for the declining educational level and plight of Patna University.
He said, “15-20 years ago, IAS and IPS were recruited directly from Patna University, but today its educational level has fallen.”
Kishore also criticized PM Narendra Modi for failing to give Patna University a central university status, claiming that Nitish Kumar never preferred education reforms and instead focused on political bargaining for ministerial posts.
He said, “PM Narendra Modi dismissed the demand for making Patna University a central university and claimed that he wanted to make it an international university. However, nothing happened and what was left was ruined.”
Kishore said, “The dignity of Patna University has been destroyed under the guise of infrastructure development, metro and double decker projects. Can you imagine that Delhi University should be demolished to build a metro? But here in Bihar, the entire science department of Patna University has been destroyed for the metro project. It is only possible in Bihar. It is only possible in Bihar and I am responsible for this and I am responsible for this and I am responsible for this and BJP and BJP for this.
Prashant Kishore is actively increasing his influence in politics with the Jan Suraj Party fielded in PUSU elections. Patna University Students Union Elections will be held on March 29 and the nomination has started from March 10. The results of PUSU will be declared on 30 March.
