Patna, March 18 (IANS). Bihar Sports Minister Surendra Mehta unveiled the jersey of the Indian team in the presence of the Bihar State Sports Authority, Yogendra Singh Dahiya, president of the Bihar State Sports Authority, Yogendra Singh Dahiya, president of the seak takra Federation of India and the Indian Sepak Takra team at a ceremony held at Pataliputra Sports Complex on Tuesday.

The Sports Minister said that the hosting of Sapak Takra World Cup is a matter of great pride for Bihar. Today, Bihar is touching new heights towards sports due to the continuous efforts of the Bihar government committed to sports and all -round development of players in the state. Today, the sports movement has reached every village and the talent of the village is being selected and is being prepared as a national and international level player.

He said that the event of this World Cup in Bihar will not only boost the morale of the players of Bihar, but will also strengthen the image of Bihar internationally in the field of sports. The minister met the players of the Indian team and encouraged him. According to the agreement between Sapak Takra Federation of India and Bihar State Sports Authority, the name of Bihar will be written in the Jersey of the Indian Sepak team for the next one year. It will not only help in creating the image of Bihar in the field of sports at the international level, but will also be positively impressive for the tourism industry.

It is worth noting that for the first time in Bihar, the Sepak Takra World Cup is being organized from March 20 to 25 in Patna’s Pataliputra Sports Complex. 20 countries of the world are participating in this World Cup and more than 300 players and trainers will participate. Japan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Iran, Vietnam, India, Brazil, Poland, France, Nepal, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, USA, Singapore, Switzerland, Indonesia, Italy, Chinese Taipei will have a thrilling match.

It was reported that a total of seven events will be held in Regu, W and Quad of the Sampak Kala Khel. It consists of three women, three men and a mixed events. Being a host, the women and men’s teams of India will be included in all the events. A total of 150 matches will be played from 20 to 25 March.
