Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Girish Mahajan, calling Shiv Sena (Ubatha) MP Sanjay Raut as ‘Dalal’ and Uddhav Thackeray’s political enemies, on Tuesday alleged that he (Raut) is weakening the party organization.
Mahajan’s remarks are considered to be an answer to Raut’s allegations. Raut had said that when the BJP is out of power in the state, Mahajan will be the first leader to leave him.
Mahajan is considered close to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan in the Maharashtra government told reporters, “Uddhav Thackeray does not need any political enemy to ruin his party, because Sanjay Raut is enough for this work.”
The BJP MLA from North Maharashtra alleged that ‘brokers like Raut’ had dropped leaders and ground workers from Shiv Sena (Ubatha).
Mahajan said, “The way Raut brought Uddhav Thackeray close to Sharad Pawar and Congress, he has done the most damage to his own party.”
He said that if Thackeray fails to curb Raut, then Shiv Sena (Ubatha) will break.
The Shiv Sena was divided into June 2022 after the party’s veteran Eknath Shinde and several MLAs left the party.
In response to Sanjay Raut’s allegations, Mahajan said, “But I will never do what Raut did with his party.” I will not do any work that hurts the organization. I am one of the most senior leaders of BJP. I remained in opposition for 20 years. Although I received a proposal several times (to change the frost), I never left my party. ”
