New Delhi, March 10 (IANS). Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa targeted the BJP over the raid of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He said that since the Congress has made Bhupesh Baghel in charge of Punjab, an attempt is being made to intimidate him. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that the BJP has worked against the people of Punjab, so it can never set foot in the state.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team raided the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel at Bhilai on Monday. Along with this, the ED team also reached the house of his son Chaitanya Baghel. This action is said to be related to the liquor scam and Mahadev Satta App case.
Talking to news agency IANS on Monday, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said, “Bhupesh Baghel was welcomed in Punjab and BJP’s current situation in Punjab is known as BJP has happened in Lok Sabha, Assembly elections, BJP can never work against the people of the state. When he has made Bhupesh Baghel in charge. Let us do whatever you want to do, we will continue to work for the betterment and unity of Punjab. “
Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also commented on the recent working of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha with some party people allegedly working with the BJP.
Former Congress party president Rahul Gandhi had claimed that some leaders of Gujarat Congress are working as a intelligence for the BJP. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa agreed to his claim, saying, “There is truth in what Rahul Gandhi has said. We should have already thought about it. Those who are in Congress should never speak against the party. People from other parties should not be given leadership posts.”
He said that this issue has caused a lot of damage in Punjab and the party could have handled this situation better.
Randhawa also supported Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh’s statement to evacuate BJP supporters from within the Congress party. He said, “What Digvijay Singh said is correct. A person coming from another party should not be given important positions immediately. They take people with them while leaving.”
