Jammu, September 7 (IANS). Preparations for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are going on in full swing. Meanwhile, on Friday, the BJP has released its election manifesto. Congress spokesperson Ravinder Sharma reacted to the BJP’s manifesto.
Ravinder Sharma launched a scathing attack on the BJP manifesto. He alleged that the BJP has failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in its previous manifestos. He said that challenges like unemployment, lack of development and political instability still persist in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP’s policies have deepened the gap between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country. Along with this, he also accused the BJP of doing divisive politics for electoral gains.
Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined Congress on Friday. On Vinesh-Bajrang joining Congress, BJP said that the wrestlers were doing politics. Reacting to this, Ravinder Sharma said that he was a wrestler earlier, he has joined Congress today. These eminent wrestlers are the pride of the country, but the BJP government ignored their honor and interests.
He alleged that the BJP talks about sports and players only for electoral gains and does nothing for their welfare. The government should seriously consider the demands and issues of the players and not ignore them.
Let us tell you that wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress on Friday. Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal gave party membership to Vinesh and Bajrang. During this, he had said that today is a very big day. We have been with the wrestlers from the beginning and will continue to do so.
Reacting to Omar Abdullah’s comment on Afzal Guru’s hanging, he said that this is a sensitive issue and there should be no politics on it. There should be faith in the country’s security and justice system. The Congress party has always respected the rule of law and judicial decisions. Rhetoric should be avoided in such cases and national interest should be given top priority.
