Lucknow, September 1 (IANS). Film actress and BJP MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat Kangana Ranaut is in the news for her upcoming film ‘Emergency’. The film is going to be released on September 6, but Kangana is being heavily criticized for a statement she made in a podcast during the film promotion.
Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has advised the BJP to expel Kangana from the party with immediate effect. In response to a question from IANS, he said, “Kangana Ranaut does not come from a farmer family. She should go to the farmer family and apologize for her statements.”
Actually, Kangana Ranaut had said during a podcast that rapes took place in the farmers’ movement, if the top leadership of BJP was not there at the center, it would not have taken much time for the situation like Bangladesh to arise here.
After this statement of Kangana, she is getting rape and death threats. At the same time, BJP has also warned her not to make such statements. After this matter, Kangana came to Delhi and met the party’s national president J.P. Nadda.
At the same time, Kangana’s entire focus is now on her film. But, after her statement, a campaign has started against the film ‘Emergency’.
Kangana posted a video on X on August 30. She said that her film has not received a certificate from the censor. She said, “Many rumors are flying around that our film has received a certificate from the censor board. Our film has been cleared, but its certification has been stopped because we are getting a lot of threats. The censor board people are also getting threats.”
The MP said that there is pressure on the film’s team not to show Indira Gandhi’s death, not to show Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, not to show the scenes of Punjab riots. He said, “Then what should we show? I am sorry, it has become difficult for me to believe this time and the circumstances that have arisen. All this is happening in one state of this country.”
