Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has said that the BJP will support Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for another term. He dismissed speculation that after the assembly elections to be held later this year, the NDA could emphasize a new face.
Chaudhary also said in a conversation with PTI-language that Kumar’s son Nishant’s possible entry into politics is his personal matter and this is the internal matter of JDU. He termed the main rival Tejashwi Yadav of the NDA in the state as a person appointed by RJD President Lalu Prasad.
The former state BJP president said, “BJP is comfortable with Nitish Kumar, who has led the NDA in Bihar since 1996. So Nitish was a leader tomorrow, is still today and will remain tomorrow.”
Asked about the speculation of 47 -year -old Nishant, who has been away from public life till now, Chaudhary said, “This is Nitish ji’s personal decision and JDU’s internal matter. Whatever decision he takes, BJP will be with him as a coalition partner.”
The Deputy Chief Minister also lightly took up the discussion created by his predecessor and current opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav through several populist promises and claimed that “he is just a person appointed by his father Lalu Prasad. The day Lalu ji will declare someone else, such as Tej Pratap Yadav or Misa Bharati, will declare his successor, no one will pay attention to that day.”
