Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav recently expressed concern over the government’s preparations to deal with the recent increase in Kovid cases in a tweet. He emphasized the need to take timely measures to be activated by the government and to prevent another health crisis.
He said that before ringing the alarm bells, the government should be conscious of time to control and prevent corona, so that the mistakes of negligence and mismanagement are not repeated again.

There has also been a slight increase in active Kovid cases in India. According to the data available till May 19, there are currently 257 active Kovid-19 cases in the country.
Earlier on Monday, after the recent media reports of increase in Kovid affairs in Singapore and Hong Kong, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) convened a review meeting with experts of the National Cell, Disaster Management Cell, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Central Government Hospitals.
Sources said that the meeting was chaired by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS). According to the information, cases in Singapore and Hong Kong are mostly mild and are not associated with unusual severity or mortality. In view of these developments, the expert review meeting concluded that the current Kovid status in India is under control.
There is also a strong system for monitoring the respiratory viral diseases including the Integrated Disease Monitoring Program (IDSP) and ICMR through ICMR.
