A married woman reached the police station in Churu, Rajasthan. She said- Sir, help me. My boyfriend and I are receiving death threats. My in-laws are threatening me. The police made the woman sit in front. Told him to tell everything in detail. The policemen were stunned to know the story he then told. SP has ordered investigation into the matter.
20-year-old Gayatri of Kitasar told the SP office – I was married to a man from Jegania village 3 years ago. I did not want this marriage. Because I loved someone else. But the family members married me instead of my brother in exchange for money. Atta Sata is a bad practice. In which marriage is done in exchange for the girl. When my brother got divorced 9 months ago, I also left my husband’s house and came home.
The victim said- I was in a relationship with Ramchandra of Jegnia village for the last 4 years. Ramchandra has a shoe shop in Rajaldesar. We both wanted to get married. But due to the hardships, my family got me married at another place. 9 months ago, when my flour was gone, I again came in contact with Ramchandra.
Gayatri left her in-laws house and started living in Pehar. Ramchandra told that 3 months ago Gayatri left her husband and came to him. Then both of them started living with their acquaintance in Delhi. Now that they have started receiving threats, they have reached the SP office for protection. The SP listened to both of them and then ordered the police to investigate the matter. He said to investigate first. If the allegations are found true then both should be provided security. Action should also be taken against the accused.
