UP Politics: Mayawati, a strong player of political akhadas. The first woman Dalit Chief Minister and the youngest woman to become the youngest. There are so many records that Mayawati made her name in politics. BSP chief Mayawati first became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1995. In the year 2012, Samajwadi Party won and made Akhilesh Yadav CM. After this, Bahujan Samaj Party broke up or say that due to lack of trusted leaders, weakened. The current situation is difficult to say that Mayawati is towards the end or is a new beginning from the end.
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has been the Chief Minister of Bahujan Samaj Party four times four times. Every moment the changing politics is considered very well. Despite this, the party is towards the end. After its poor performance in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, the party is looking for a way to recover once again. Please tell that there is about 22 percent Dalit population in the state. If you look at the old figures, the BSP has been doing politics of Brahmins and Dalits. There were some seats where Muslims have also been supported. 12-14 percent are Brahmin voters. Mayawati’s inaction shifted the Brahmin vote to the BJP. Dalit vote went to SP. It suffered heavy losses to the BSP. It was so late to end ‘Maya’ from Mayawati’s nephew that the party reached its last breath. Now the party is waiting for the troubleshooter.
Mayawati did not get her own
One reason for the weakening of the BSP is also believed that no trusted and a leader who understood his own was found. Everyone brightened their politics and with the time the other handed over to the other, the party remained behind. However, political experts say that Mayawati disappeared in politics for some time or said that remained inactive. With this, Indrajit Saroj, Lalji Verma and Sukhdev Rajbhar left Bahujan Samaj Party. Sukhdev linked his son to Akhilesh Yadav’s party. Harishankar Tiwari also rode his sons and nephews on the SP’s bicycle. In such a situation, Mayawati became weak in Purvanchal’s politics. Both of them were two big faces of OBCs and Brahmins. At the same time, Mayawati has given the responsibility to the party’s general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra to connect with the Brahmins.
When Mayawati was in the golden period of politics
Mayawati came in contact with Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram in 1977. After this, Kairana seat of Muzaffarnagar district contested for the first time in 1984 but lost. After this, he lost the election in Bijnor in 1985 and Haridwar in 1987. After this, for the first time in 1989, she won the Lok Sabha elections and became MP. She was elected to the Rajya Sabha by winning for the second time in 1994. After this, from 3 June 1995 to 18 October 1995, she became CM for 137 days. For the second time from 21 March 1997 to 21 September 1997, 184 days were the head of the state. May 3, 2002 to August 29, 2003 i.e. 1 year, 118 days CM. After this, for the fourth time, Bahujan Samaj Party registered a huge victory and Mayawati ran the government for four years, 307 days. Till the 2007 elections, Mayawati remained in the golden period of politics but after that the party lost its existence.
What is the position of the party today
Mayawati formed the government in 2007 by winning 206 seats. In its 2012 assembly elections, these seats were reduced to 80 seats. After this, in the year 2017, only 19 MLAs went to the BSP quota. At the same time, the status of 2022 elections was negligible. Out of 403, BSP got only one seat from Rasra Assembly of Ballia. Here Umashankar Singh won the third time by 6585 votes. At the same time, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP was successful in 10 seats while in 2024 it was zero. The BSP was out in the parliamentary election.
Party struggled in family feud
Before the Lok Sabha elections, the way Mayawati had set a strategy by bringing the nephew Akash Anand forward, it seemed that the party would once again save its existence. Akash Anand also held several rallies after the successor was declared, but before the election, Mayawati removed the successor. After this, the rallies were also canceled. At the same time, Mayawati dropped out of the party by Akash Anand’s father -in -law Ashok Siddharth of sabotage in the party. The BSP supremo called a meeting on Sunday and sidelined everyone. Making a big announcement, he even said that as long as he is breathing, there will be no successor of the party. She herself will lead the moment etc. Mayawati could not give anyone a chance in the midst of the siblings.
Mayawati is a big face of politics. After taking the party’s Dar-O-Madar on itself, what will be its effect in the upcoming elections, it will be a matter to see.
