Voting is going on for the by -elections in five assembly seats in four states. The seats where voting are going on include the link and Visavadar assembly seats of Gujarat. Similarly, voting is also being held on Nilambur seat in Kerala, Ludhiana seat in Punjab and Kaliganj assembly seat in West Bengal. Till 11 am, 28.15 per cent in Visavadar seat of Gujarat, 23.85 per cent in sequel seat, 30.15 per cent in Nilambur seat in Kerala, 21.15 per cent in Ludhiana West seat in Punjab and 30.64 per cent in Kaliganj assembly seat in West Bengal.

Till 9 am, 10.38 percent turnout in Kaliganj assembly seat of West Bengal and 13.15 percent in Nilambur assembly seat in Kerala, AAP has made Sanjeev Arora, Congress has nominated Bharat Bhushan Ashu, BJP Jeevan Gupta and SAD have nominated Singh Ghuman. On the other hand, voting is going on at polling station 171 for the Kaliganj by -election in Nadia, West Bengal. TMC’s Alifa Ahmed, BJP’s Ashish Ghosh and Congress’s capable Uddin Sheikh are candidates from this seat. Polling has started at polling station number 184 at Government Lower Primary School, Wettikuth in Kerala’s Nilambur Assembly by -election. LDF has nominated M. Swaraj, UDF, while BJP has nominated Advocate Mohan George.

Why are the by -elections happening? The Kadi seat of Gujarat was vacant due to the death of Karsanbhai Panja Solanki. Similarly, Visavadar Assembly seat was vacant due to the resignation of AAP MLA Bhayani Bhupendrabhai Gandubhai. The Nilambur seat of Kerala was vacant due to the resignation of PV Anwar. At the same time, the by -election is being held in the Ludhiana assembly seat of Punjab due to the death of Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. While the by -election is being held in the Kaliganj assembly seat of West Bengal due to the death of Naseeruddin Ahmed.

Big contest in Ludhiana West seat of Punjab

Ludhiana West seat of Punjab is getting a tough fight. This seat was vacant after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. From this seat, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded Rajya Sabha MP and industrialist Sanjeev Arora. CM Bhagwant Mann has announced that he will be included in the cabinet after the victory.

What is the condition of Congress and BJP?

If we talk about Congress and BJP, then the Congress has fielded former minister and Bharat Bhushan Ashu, who has been an MLA twice, from this seat. Ashu said that his fight is not with Arora but Kejriwal, who wants to go to the Rajya Sabha from the back door. At the same time, Jeevan Gupta from BJP and Advocate from SAD are contesting Singh Ghuman. Let us tell you that a total of 14 candidates are in the fray on this seat. There are 1,75,469 voters, including 85,371 women and 10 third gender voters. Strict security arrangements have been made at 194 polling stations with 100% live webcasting.
