There is a possibility of a tough contest between the ruling Mahayuti and Mahavikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra. During the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition Mahavikas Aghadi alliance had an upper hand on the ruling camp.
Commission team has visited the state
The Election Commission team has already visited Maharashtra and taken stock of the preparations. The team led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar had visited Maharashtra last month. Apart from discussions with various political parties, the 14-member Election Commission team also reviewed the security arrangements and other preparations. The tenure of the Maharashtra Assembly is going to end on November 26. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar says that elections will be held in the state before November 26.
The commission has also taken stock in Jharkhand
Similarly, the Election Commission team has also completed the tour of Jharkhand. The Election Commission team had made a two-day visit to Jharkhand last month and during this the Commission team had held five important meetings. Political turmoil intensifies in UP for by-elections
By-elections will be held on 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh along with these two states. After lagging in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP wants to show its strength in the assembly by-elections. For this reason, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made frequent visits to the by-election areas.
SP and Congress have made a solid strategy to show their strength in the proposed assembly by-elections in Uttar Pradesh. However, seats have not been divided between SP and Congress yet. Congress has demanded 5 seats in the state but the SP leadership is not ready to give so many seats to Congress. It is believed that this issue will be resolved in the meeting of top leaders of both the parties.
