New Delhi, December 18 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said naming the Andaman and Nicobar islands after our heroes is a way to ensure that their service to the nation is remembered by future generations.
Reposting a post shared by journalist Shiv Aroor on social media platform May the service be remembered for generations to come. It is also part of our effort to preserve the memory of our freedom fighters and eminent personalities who have left an indelible mark on our country.”
PM Modi further wrote, “Only those nations that remain connected to their roots move ahead in development and nation-building. Also enjoy the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Be sure to visit the Cellular Jail and learn about the courage of the great Veer Savarkar.” Get inspired.”
It is noteworthy that last year on January 23, 2023, 21 islands of Andaman were named after soldiers awarded Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military award.
During this, PM Modi had said, “There is a message behind the naming of 21 islands. This message is of the spirit of ‘One India, Best India’. This message is of the sacrifice of our brave men for the country and their unique courage and bravery. These 21 Paramvir Chakra winners were from different states, spoke different languages, but it was their duty to serve the country. The contribution of the soldiers who dedicate themselves to these national defense operations should also be widely recognized.”
