New Delhi, Sep 6 (IANS) BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra has strongly targeted the Mamata Banerjee government, citing the allegations made by the father of the victim of the RG Kar Medical College incident.
He also demanded an investigation into the call records of the conversations between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Commissioner Vineet Goyal during the 72 hours after the RG Kar Medical College incident so that it can be known how many times the conversations took place and what instructions were given during this period.
Addressing the media at the BJP national headquarters, he said that as long as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Kolkata Commissioner Vineet Goyal remain in their posts, a fair investigation is not possible. Therefore, the BJP demands both of them to leave their posts.
Patra said that today there is a need to raise the questions of the victim’s father. He is such a father who has not got justice. That father, BJP and the people of the country also want to know what was the reason that Mamata government tried to bribe the victim’s parents. Mamata government tried to bribe the victim’s parents through the DC and that too at a time when the victim’s body was in the house. Anyone tries to bribe only when he is corrupt and wants to hide the truth.
Citing the father’s allegations, Patra said that initially he was told that his daughter committed suicide. But, he waited for three and a half hours to see his daughter’s body. The police did not let him go inside, even though many people were coming and going in that room. Everyone there knew everything, despite this, look at the audacity of the West Bengal Police Administration that they wrote unnatural death as the cause of death. He was asked to sign on a blank and plain paper. Why was there a delay in conducting the post-mortem? Why did the hospital not file an FIR?
Patra further asked why the complaint filed by the parents in the evening was registered as an FIR at night. Why was the last rites conducted in a hurry and forcefully? No relative was allowed to accompany the dead body in the ambulance, instead a local TMC leader was made to sit in the ambulance as a guardian. The facts presented by Indira Mukherjee and other officials of the Bengal government in a press conference are outright lies.
