Congress leader Sham Mohammad, who made a controversy on the weight of Indian cricket team captain Rahul Sharma, praised Sharma for his lead in the final match of the Champions Trophy and congratulated the team for the victory in the tournament.
India won the title for the third time by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final on Sunday. Captain Rohit Sharma scored an innings of 76 runs, leading the team.
Mohammad wrote on ‘X’, “Congratulations to Team India for winning a brilliant performance in the Champions Trophy 2025!” He said, “Salute to captain Rohit Sharma, who laid the foundation of victory by scoring a brilliant 76 runs. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul played important innings, which won India! This is a memorable victory! ”
Congress spokesperson Mohammed had raised a big controversy on last Monday by commenting on Sharma’s weight through a ‘post’. His comment angered millions of cricket fans and criticized him by various sections including Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia and his own party.
