Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, while reacting to the raid of the ED at his Bhilai residence on Friday, said that central agencies are being misused to target opposition leaders, but they have confidence in the judiciary and will cooperate in action.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) again raided the premises of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday. Official sources gave this information. The raid was conducted against his son Chaitanya Baghel in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam.
Official sources said that after getting new evidence in the case, the ED raided Baghel’s residence located in Bhilai city of Durg district under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This is a common house of father and son. Talking to reporters outside his residence in Bhilai, Baghel said, “Modi and Shah have sent ED to my house to please their boss. We are neither afraid nor bent. Bhupesh Baghel will not be afraid. We will fight the battle of truth. ”
He alleged, “On the one hand, the names of voters (from the voter list) are being removed with the help of the Election Commission in Bihar on the one hand … democracy is being ripped off. On the other hand, ED, IT, CBI, DRI are being misused to suppress opposition leaders. But now the people of the country have understood and are well aware. ”
Baghel said, “ED has come before and raided my house and recovered Rs 33 lakh from my house. Now they have come again, what does it mean? We will cooperate fully … whether they are trust or not, we believe in democracy and judiciary. They (BJP) are misusing the agency, but we will support them. Questioning the time of raid on the day of the anniversary of his son Chaitanya, he said, “Modi and Shah ji can give no one in any democracy of the world like a gift of his birthday.” On my birthday, both the ultimate respected leaders sent ED to my advisor and two OSD homes.
