Chandigarh, 17 April (IANS). Targeting the central government, Haryana Congress State Committee President Udaybhan said that the central government is defaming the top leadership of the Congress to divert attention from the Waqf law.
During a conversation with news agency IANS on Thursday, Haryana Congress Chief said that the central government wants to suppress the Congress. However, we want to tell the central government that the Congress is not afraid. Congress will not bow down. On Thursday, senior Congress leaders in Haryana demonstrated strongly after the names of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the charge sheet filed by the ED in the National Herald case. He was detained by the police in view of the fierce demonstrations of Congress leaders.
The President of Haryana Pradesh Congress said that these people can take us into custody. However, our opposition will continue. We will continue protests against the persecution of the central government. He said that there is a lot of anger all over the country about the manner in which an attempt is being made to discredit the top leadership of the Congress. In the National Herald case, there was no money laundering of a new money. Still false cases are being registered. The Congress party is not afraid of the central government. On this matter, we will fight from the road to the Parliament. We will expose these people on each issue. He has claimed that the Waqf law has passed in the country. There is protest against it. Therefore, the central government is defaming Congress leaders to divert people’s attention with Waqf Act.
Congress leader Deepender Hooda said that the BJP government at the Center is constantly working to suppress the voice of the opposition. Efforts are being made to intimidate and suppress the opposition leaders through the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by misusing power. He claimed that the ED has so far filed more than 800 cases, but not a single leader has been found guilty.
