Chairman expressed displeasure over spitting pan masala in Uttar Pradesh Assembly

उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा में पान मसाला थूकने पर अध्यक्ष ने जताई नाराजगी

Lucknow, March 4 (IANS). While reiterating the dignity and resolve to maintain the dignity of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana expressed deep displeasure over a undisciplined incident.

On Tuesday, before the commencement of the assembly proceedings, he immediately went there and ensured cleanliness and condemned this disorganized behavior as soon as he got information about the paan masala being splash at the entrance of the assembly pavilion. After this, while addressing the House, the Speaker said in clear terms that not only one person, but we all have a collective responsibility towards the assembly.

He said that a video of this undisciplined act is available, but it is not his purpose to publicly humiliate a member. Despite this, he appealed to all the members that if they see someone doing this in future, then stop it there and cooperate in maintaining the dignity of the assembly.

Mahana also said that the person who has done this work should come forward and accept it, otherwise he will have to call him. He said that the assembly belongs to all of us. This is not just the assembly of the Speaker. It is responsible for all 403 members. This is the assembly of 25 crore people of UP. It is our responsibility to keep it clean.

After giving this information by the speaker in the assembly, some members said that the name of such a member should be taken, on which Satish Mahana said no, I will not take anyone’s name. But the person who has done, if he himself comes and says that he has done it. The Speaker of the Assembly again emphasized this subject in the House and said that the Uttar Pradesh Assembly is a symbol of respect and faith of the state of 25 crore citizens. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to maintain its cleanliness and dignity.
