New Delhi, 8 March (IANS). On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Indian Chess Grandmaster Vaishali Rameshbabu on Saturday conducted the ‘X’ handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This step is part of PM Modi’s promise in which he said that on the occasion of Women’s Day, his social media accounts will be conducted by women who are making their mark in various fields. Posting from the PM’s ‘X’ handle, Vaishali said that she is thrilled by the occasion and is proud to represent the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already shared a post on ‘X’, reiterating his commitment on Women’s Day. She wrote, “We salute our women’s power on Women’s Day! Our government has always worked for the empowerment of women, which is reflected in our plans and programs. Today, as promised, my social media accounts will be conducted by women who are leaving their mark in various fields.” Fulfilling this promise, Vaishali took command of the PM’s ‘X’ handle on Saturday.
Posting from the PM’s handle, Vaishali wrote in his message, “Vanakkam! I am Vaishali and I am very happy that I am handling our PM Narendra Modi’s social media, that too on Women’s Day. As many of you know, I play chess and I am very proud to represent my beloved country in many tournaments.”
Talking about my life, he said, “I was born on 21 June, which is now coincidentally popular as International Yoga Day. I have been playing chess since the age of 6. It has been a learning, exciting and beneficial journey for me, which looks in many of my tournaments and Olympiad’s successes. But there is a lot to do much.”
In his message, Vaishali inspired women, especially young girls and said, “I want to tell all women, especially young girls to chase their dreams, no matter how many obstacles come. Your passion will be your success.
Sharing his ambition, he said, “I want to improve my FIDE rankings and make my country more proud. Chess has given me a lot and I am eager to contribute more to this game. With this spirit, I want to tell young girls to tell you any game of their choice. The game is one of the best teachers.”
Vaishali also appealed to parents and siblings. He said, “I want to say to parents and siblings-support girls. Trust their abilities, they will show miracles. My parents, Thiru Rameshbabu and Thirumati Nagalakshmi have a huge contribution in my life.
He also praised the increasing support for women in India at present. Vaishali said, “I think today’s India gives great support to women athletes, which is very encouraged. From advancing women to training and giving adequate sports experience, the progress that India is making is extraordinary is extraordinary.”
