A fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April 2025 has taken a new twist. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two local people Parvez Ahmed Jothar and Bashir Ahmed Jothar during the investigation. Both of them are accused of providing the terrorists living, food and ration before the attack. With his arrest, the international network of plot of this attack is also coming out. Parvez and Bashir have made big revelations in interrogation.
According to NIA sources, the three attacks who attacked were Pakistani citizens and were associated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET). One of these terrorists has been identified as Hashim Musa alias Suleman, who was once a para commando in Pakistan’s Special Force Unit Special Service Group (SSG). Hashim Moses has been active in Kashmir for the past few months and was also part of the double attacks in Gangangir and Buta tracks in October 2024, killing a total of 10 innocent people. It is being told that Moses was taken from SSG to Lashkar on a “loan”, so that he could specifically attack non-local citizens and security forces.
Terrorists got local and technical assistance
There were two more terrorists with Moses in the attack. Among them was a Pakistani citizen Ali Bhai and a local terrorist Adil Hussain Thokar, who was given terrorist training in Pakistan. The entire network was supported by about 15 overground workers (OGW), who were providing assistance to terrorists in various forms. Before arresting Parvez and Bashir, the NIA conducted a long technical monitoring and analyzed the input from OGW. The investigation also revealed that the terrorists were in constant touch with Pakistani handlers through the Chinese Communication App ‘Ultra’.
The attacking is still absconding, he is suspected to be hiding in the forests of Tral-Kulagam-Anantnag.
The NIA fears that the attacks who attacked are still hiding in the dense forests of Tral, Kulgam and Anantnag. The search operation against him has been intensified. At the same time, Parvez and Bashir’s arrest shocked the investigating agencies, as both had no criminal records so far. He has been arrested under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. Both will now be produced in the NIA court in Jammu. Significantly, in this attack on April 22, 26 Hindu tourists lost their lives and 16 others were seriously injured. This attack is being counted in the most horrific terrorist attacks in the history of the valley, which has shocked the country.
