The government led by Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra is going to expand its cabinet today. In this expansion of Fadnavis cabinet, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Chhagan Bhujbal will take oath as Minister. Governor CP Radhakrishnan will administer the oath of office and secrecy to NCP quota minister Chhagan Bhujbal at the swearing -in ceremony held at Raj Bhavan at 10 am. Chhagan Bhujbal, one of the largest faces of the Other Backward Class (OBC) in Maharashtra politics, has also confirmed this.
Confirming the inclusion of the cabinet, Chhagan Bhujbal said that I have been given information in this regard. Giving information about the time of swearing in, he said that the swearing -in ceremony will take place at 10 am on Tuesday. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will also be present at the swearing -in ceremony of Chhagan Bhujbal. All preparations for this swearing -in ceremony at Raj Bhavan have been completed. The NCP (Ajit Pawar) will be a minister in the Chhagan Bhujbal Fadnavis government.
Significantly, senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was also a minister in the previous Mahayuti government. Bhujbal, who was counted among the strong leaders of NCP, was also to become a minister in the new government, but it did not happen. Bhujbal was not given a place in Devendra Fadnavis cabinet. The 77 -year -old leader had openly expressed his unhappiness over it and also targeted Ajit Pawar. Chhagan Bhujbal is an MLA from Yola assembly seat in Nashik district.
Dhananjay Munde is getting ministerial post
Chhagan Bhujbal is being included in Devendra Fadnavis cabinet in place of Dhananjay Munde. Significantly, Dhananjay Munde resigned from the post of minister citing health reasons in March. He had the responsibility of the Food and Supplies Department. Dhananjay Munde had increased the pressure on Dhananjay Munde since the name of one of his colleagues in the murder of a sarpanch in Beed. Dhananjay Munde’s associate Valmiki Karad came in the case of murder of Beed Sarpanch Deshmukh.
It is to be known that when the cabinet expansion was not given a ministerial position in December 2024 last year, Chhagan Bhujbal met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. After this, Bhujbal openly expressed his displeasure and claimed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had advocated him to be included in the cabinet, but he was not included in the cabinet for some reasons. This resentment of Chhagan Bhujbal became the subject of discussion inside and outside the party.
