Puri, March 28 (IANS). Raman Singh, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, reached the famous Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha on Friday, where he visited and worshiped Lord Jagannath.
Raman Singh was warmly welcomed by the temple administration on reaching the temple premises. He was entered into the temple with proper protocols. Subsequently, Singh worshiped the main deities in the temple and spent some time with devotion in the temple of Maa Vimala. After the darshan, the temple administration honored him by presenting the traditional ‘Khandua Pata’ (holy silk cloth).
Talking to the media after seeing Lord Jagannath, he expressed his gratitude and said that he is feeling lucky after receiving Mahaprabhu Jagannath’s darshan. He also prayed for more development and strength of relations between Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Earlier, the 32nd Governor of Assam Laxman Prasad Acharya visited the famous Jagannath temple in Puri on Thursday and received the blessings of Lord Jagannath. He expressed deep reverence and gratitude and said that this experience was going to enrich his life. Felt proud to come to such a revered and holy place. Governor Acharya, during his visit, gave importance to the religious and cultural traditions of the country and said that these traditions promote devotion and cultural pride among the people. He said that the rich heritage of the country is a great example, which remains a symbol of unity and spirituality around the world.
During this time he appreciated the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who celebrated various festivals at the national level as well as promoted the development of sites with cultural importance. He also said that under the leadership of PM Modi, the country is moving towards progress while saving its cultural heritage. The architecture of the Puri Jagannath temple and its grandeur was also praised by the Governor and hoped that this journey of development and prosperity of the country would continue continuously.
