New Delhi, 21 March (IANS). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a charge sheet against two accused in the case of purchase and supply of explosives by the banned terrorist organization CPI (Maoist) in Chhattisgarh.
The Anti -Terrorism Agency has named Mantosh Mandal and Sela Nagarjuna alias S Nagarjuna, residents of Patnampara in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh, in their charge sheet filed before the NIA special court in Jagdalpur.
In September, Sukma police claimed to have busted the Maoist supply network by seizing the arrest of two accused and seizing the material used in explosives from them. They recovered two potassium nitrate coaches, two kilograms of urea powder, three coaches of aluminum powder, one tiffin bomb, two detonators, Maoist literature, a laptop, a mobile SIM card and a mobile phone. The consignment recovered from them was for the Naxalites.
Both individuals were identified as CPI (Maoist) supporters/over-ground worker (OGW) and found that they were actively involved in online purchase of explosives and other essential commodities for the restricted organization. They have such material found illegally, which aims to prepare IEDs (advanced explosive equipment) for CPI (Maoist) members in the Jagragunda area of Sukma district.
The state police originally registered a case after the arrest of Mantosh and Sela on 25 September 2024. The NIA re -registered the case on 23 December 2024 and continued its further investigation.
During interrogation, both of them told the police that they were involved in the supply of gunpowder, explosive material, chemicals, detonators, walkie-talkie and ration material since 2020. PLGA is the armed branch of the Communist Party of India (Maoist). The consignment recovered from them was for the Naxalites.
