Chandigarh, Sep 26 (IANS) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohali after he fainted three times late Wednesday night, sources said.
“The chief minister has been admitted to hospital and is undergoing intensive check-up,” a senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said.
He refused to disclose Mann’s illness. The Chief Minister’s health is fine and he will be discharged from the hospital after some necessary tests.
According to reports, he is being treated at Fortis Hospital. Doctors have refused to comment.
According to hospital sources, Chief Minister Mann was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi last week for monitoring. Sources told IANS that CM Mann had come for a routine check-up and his condition is fine. There has been no official statement from AAP or the Punjab government regarding CM Mann’s condition.
Opposition parties like Akali Dal and Congress had targeted Chief Minister Mann and AAP over this incident. They also demanded that they disclose their whereabouts and diseases.
He also took a dig at the tall claims made by the AAP governments in Punjab and Delhi about having the best government hospitals and clinics.
Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa had said in a post on social media platform X, “Yet when it comes to his own health, CM Mann opts for a private hospital in Delhi! This hypocrisy is shocking. It is now clear that these so-called ‘champions of the common man’ are misleading the public with their tall claims.”
