New Delhi, 14 April (IANS). Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta can announce the EV 2.0 policy on Tuesday. Many major changes can also be seen in it. According to sources, the policy may stop selling petrol and CNG-run two-wheelers in Delhi since August 15, 2026, as well as a new registration of three-wheelers running from petrol, diesel and CNG in Delhi from August 15, 2025 will stop and it will be mandatory to convert CNG autos older than 10 years into electric.
According to sources in the announcement of the EV 2.0 policy, after the implementation of the new EV 2.0 policy on April 15, if the name of a person is 2 petrol or diesel car, then the third car will be registered only. Apart from this, under the new EV 2.0 policy of Delhi Government, all vehicles of Delhi, NDMC and Jal Board will have to be fully electrically electricly.
Under the EV 2.0 policy, the number of EV charging stations and battery swapping centers in Delhi will be increased, so that the facility of charging can be accessible. Delhi currently has a total of 1,919 electric charging stations and 2,452 charging points and 232 battery swapping centers. The policy proposes to install 13,200 public charging points in the capital, so that a charging station is available every 5 km radius.
Apart from this, after the new policy is implemented in Delhi, the initial 10,000 women will get a subsidy of up to a maximum of Rs 36,000 on purchasing electric two -wheelers and at the rate of 12,000 per kWh, as well as the rest of Delhi people can get a subsidy of up to Rs 30,000 at a rate of Rs 30,000 per kW for purchasing EVs at a rate of Rs 10,000 per kW. That is, where the government can give a subsidy of up to 36,000 for the first 10,000 women of Delhi on purchasing two -wheeler electric vehicles, then the government can also give a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to men and 10,000 women on two -wheeler electric vehicle purchase by the year 2030.
Under the policy, if a person scraps his petrol or diesel two-wheeler (scooter/bike) less than 12 years old, the government will give him an additional Rs 10,000 in EV procurement. It has also been decided in the policy that by 2027, all the new vehicles registered in Delhi, 95 copies should be electric. Along with this, a target has been set to reach 98 perps by the year 2030. The EV 2.0 policy will remain in force in Delhi till 31 March 2030.
