Bareilly, September 14 (IANS) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday, ‘Today people call Gyanvapi a mosque, but Gyanvapi is ‘Vishwanath’ himself’. National President of All India Muslim Jamaat Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi has reacted to this statement of the Chief Minister.
He said, Gyanvapi Masjid is a historic mosque with a history of several centuries. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement of calling it Vishwanath temple is not in accordance with his position. Because, people of all religions of the state have voted to make him the Chief Minister.
Maulana said Yogi Adityanath is not the Chief Minister of just one religion. The Muslims of the country will not like his statement. There is a dispute going on regarding Gyanvapi. The hearing is going on in the court. No decision has come in this regard. This statement of the CM violates the law.
Let us tell you that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was in Gorakhpur on Saturday. Here, in the inaugural program of the two-day international seminar organized on the topic ‘Contribution of Nath Panth in the creation of a harmonious society’, he said, unfortunately, the Gyanvapi which some people call a mosque today, is Vishwanath ji himself. The Chief Minister said that Gyanvapi is the incarnation of Vishwanath himself. The tradition of Indian sages and saints has always been unifying. This saint-sage tradition has given importance to egalitarian and harmonious society since ancient times.
Our saints and sages emphasize that physical untouchability is an obstacle to spiritual practice as well as national unity and integrity. The Chief Minister said that if attention had been paid to removing untouchability, the country would never have been enslaved.
The saint tradition never gave importance to untouchability and discrimination in the society. This is the tradition of Nathpanth as well. Nathpanth respected every caste, religion, sect and region. It tried to unite everyone. On one hand, Nathpanth emphasized on spiritual upliftment through purification of the body, and on the other hand, it tried to unite every section of the society.
