New Delhi, Sep 11 (IANS) The Congress Central Election Committee on Wednesday announced the names of candidates for five more assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
The party said that Mir Iqbal from Baramulla in Kashmir Valley and Nizamuddin Bhat from Bandipora have been given tickets.
In Jammu division, Congress has fielded Bushan Dogra from Suchetgarh (SC), Ashok Bhagat from Akhnoor (SC) and Tara Chand from Chhamb.
Earlier, Congress had released the list of 23 candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
Congress has formed a pre-poll alliance with National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. National Conference will contest on 52 seats, while Congress will contest on 31 seats.
Apart from this, there will be friendly contest on five seats of Nagrota, Bhaderwah, Doda and Banihal in Jammu division and Sopore in the valley.
Both the parties have left one seat for CPI(M) in the Valley and one seat for the Panthers Party in Jammu division.
