He is a strong leader and member of the Indian National Congress and General Secretary of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. He was elected to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament as a candidate of the Indian National Congress in the Rajya Sabha elections of June 2020.
Neeraj Dangi was born on 4 February 1970 in Jaipur, Rajasthan to Dinesh Dangi and Briju Devi Dangi. Neeraj Dangi is the son of former Minister of State (Rajasthan) late Dinesh Dangi. Neeraj Dangi’s father was from Rajasthan Congress and he has also been elected MLA on a Congress ticket. He was an MLA from the Desuri Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan and later he was made Minister of State in the East Rajasthan Government.

Due to being born in a political environment, life was spent in the political environment from Neeraj Dangi’s childhood to young. Neeraj Dangi’s father was made MLA and minister of Rajasthan Congress. For this reason, Neeraj also joined politics during the young period. Neeraj did student politics in the initial time and then joined the Congress party.
Despite losing a slight margin in the assembly elections, Neeraj Dangi continued to work hard for the development of his assembly constituency, as a result of which more than 4 billion development works were done during the Congress government in five years of 2008-2013. He has been associated with Congress for more than 25 years. He is known for his strong eloquence, intelligence and ability to organize the public, colleagues and subordinates. He has good relations with most of the prominent leaders of the state.

Neeraj Dangi, who has become the face of the Congress from Rajasthan to Rajya Sabha, has emerged as a Dalit face for a long time and has made his own identity in the state. Neeraj Dangi is very close relationship with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Neeraj Dangi started his political career with the Youth Congress since his youth. After this, he became the Vice President of Rajasthan Youth Congress in 2002. Due to which the Congress party nominated him from Desuri for the Rajasthan assembly elections in 2003.
At the beginning of Neeraj Dangi’s political visit, he was first made the vice -president of ‘Rajasthan Pradesh Youth Congress’ in April 1998. He should remain in this post till 2002. Earlier, he was a member of PCC from Desuri block in Pali district from May 1997 to November 1999. Later Neeraj Dangi was made a member of the District Program Implementation Committee, Pali of the Rajasthan Government. He held this post from 1999 to December 2003. With the AICC being a member, the Congress party made him the state president of the Youth Congress in 2009. After this, in 2014 he became the spokesperson of the Congress and was also made the General Secretary of PCC.
After continuous loyalty and honesty towards the party, the Congress once again declared a candidate from Revdar Assembly in 2018, but due to the party’s fight and leadership battle, he once again lost the election. Neeraj Dangi’s father Dinesh Dangi was a former minister of the Rajasthan government and fought him a big fight for Dalits while being the then minister.
At the same time, his son Neeraj Dangi used to have proficiency in politics from his student life. In view of his honesty and loyalty to the party, in 2020, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at the Congress party made a candidate to send it to the Rajya Sabha. In the end, the party sent him a ticket from the Rajya Sabha and sent him to the Rajya Sabha. Currently Neeraj Dangi is a Rajya Sabha MP of Congress from Rajasthan.

On various occasions by Rajasthan Pradesh Youth Congress under the chairmanship of Neeraj Dangi dedicated to social concerns, mainly on 21 May- Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary, 31 October- Mrs. Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary, 3 May- May 3- Chief Minister of Rajasthan Mr. Ashok Many blood donation camps have been organized in Rajasthan on Gehlot’s birthday. In which thousands of units of blood were donated by young workers during these camps to save the lives of the needy. The Rajasthan Pradesh Youth Congress organized various free medical camps for the poor in rural areas of the state during the year 2004-2008 under the chairmanship of Neeraj Dangi.
Plantation programs were organized regularly across the state to protect the environment. Various public issues of the state such as electricity problem, drinking water, security of women, poor and underprivileged people, Excise policy of the government, law and order situation in the state, relief work in rural areas during drought, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme of Central Government Hundreds of agitation programs were organized to raise proper salary, Dalit atrocities etc. to the workers working under. These programs included two major state level demonstrations outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on 11 April 2005 and 18 September 2007. Around 15 to 20 thousand youth Congress workers gathered in Jaipur from all over Rajasthan and raised their voice for various public issues of the state.
In January 2005, the Rajasthan Pradesh Youth Congress headed by Neeraj Dangi contributed Rs 3,37,120/- to the ‘Rajiv Gandhi National Relief and Welfare Trust’ for tsunami affected people. In December 2005, the ‘Rajiv Gandhi National Relief and Welfare Trust’ contributed Rs 3,86,417/- to the Jammu and Kashmir earthquake affected people. In the year 2007, the ‘Rajiv Gandhi National Relief and Welfare Trust’ contributed Rs 2,36,361/- to the flood affected people of Barmer, Rajasthan.
In the memory of member ‘Mahavir International’ Pali District, Desuri assembly constituency, former Rajasthan minister Late Shri Dinesh Dangi, a TB and dental disease camp was organized from 1 March 1997 to 6 March 1997. Such countless work related to social service continues to be done by Neeraj Dangi. This is the reason that their popularity rings within their state and among the public.
