The Congress has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call a special session of both houses of Parliament in view of the situation arising after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam to express collective resolution and will against terrorism.
Party President Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to the Prime Minister and made this request. While sharing this letter, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, “Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on Monday night requesting that a special session of Parliament should be called soon to display the collective wish of dealing with the situation arising out of the cruel terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025.
Kharge said in the letter, “At this time unity and solidarity is necessary and in such a situation, the opposition believes that a special session of both houses of Parliament should be called as soon as possible. This will be a strong expression of our collective resolution and will to deal with the cruel terrorist attack on innocent citizens in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025.
He said, “We hope the session will be called.”
