Ranchi, September 7 (IANS). The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee extended working committee meeting was held on Saturday in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi. In this meeting, the party leaders discussed the future strategy of the state.
In the important meeting of Congress held in Ranchi, Congress State President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Lok Sabha MP Saptgiri Ulka including all former office bearers of State Congress, all district presidents, district secretaries, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Minority Congress, OBC Congress and office bearers of other departments participated.
In this meeting, important discussions were held on the strategy and issues of the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. Jharkhand Congress State President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said that an important proposal was discussed in the Congress meeting, in which it was said that on the lines of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, the government in Jharkhand should also form a separate backward class welfare ministry for the welfare of the backward classes.
He further said that a Congress delegation will meet the state’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren and demand the formation of a ‘Backward Class Welfare Ministry’ as soon as possible. Mahato further said that wherever there is a Municipal Corporation in Jharkhand, Nagar and Mahanagar Congress Committee will be formed there. We will send this proposal to the All India Congress Committee.
On the question of how many seats Congress will contest in the Jharkhand assembly elections, he said that the party’s high command will take a decision in this regard. The party will field its candidate from the place where the chances of winning are higher.
Let us tell you that the ruling party of the state Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress are planning to contest together in the upcoming assembly elections. However, recently the Chief Minister of the state Hemant Soren got a big shock when his party’s senior leader and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Champai Soren joined the main opposition party of the state BJP.
Champai Soren joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister and Jharkhand election in-charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma. Champai Soren’s joining the BJP is considered a big loss for the ruling party of the state before the elections.
