New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi spoke to IANS on Tuesday on various issues.
On the ongoing tussle over seat sharing between Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, he said, “In the recent political scenario, the complexities of Maha Vikas Aghadi and other alliances have come to the fore. The leaders involved in these political equations are competing among themselves, due to which a situation of tussle and distrust is arising among them. Especially, questions are being raised on the role of Congress Party. Congress’s history in politics has been full of disloyalty.”
He also said on the guidelines issued by the Uttar Pradesh government regarding the encounter, “The responsibility of maintaining social security and harmony is the constitutional responsibility of any government. In the last several years, there have been riots and law and order related cases in Uttar Pradesh. Strict action has been taken, which has created an environment of confidence in the society. The guidelines issued by the state government are important in this context, as they seek to further strengthen the security of the society.”
On Chandrababu Naidu’s recent statement on population, he said, “It is also necessary to discuss the population imbalance, where on one hand there is excessive population in some areas, while on the other hand it is less in some places. This imbalance is due to the geographical and social conditions of different states. The result is that there is a need for an in-depth academic debate and discussion on this issue so that it can be resolved.”
