Udhampur, Sep 7 (IANS) During his visit to Jammu, Union Minister Jitendra Singh supported Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in which he said that Article 370 will never return to Jammu and Kashmir.
He took on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on the same issue. He said, “When Congress leaders come to the valley, they become in favour of implementing Article 370, but when they come to Jammu, they become in favour of removing 370. But voters have become much more aware now.”
He said that in the 1960s and 1970s, there was a famous saying about the leaders of the National Conference and the Congress that these people used to keep three swords in the sheaths for the journalists. One would hit in Srinagar, the other in Jammu and the third in Delhi. But now, because of friends like you, this is not possible in real time reporting. Therefore, these people are not able to make it clear whether they should be in favour of 370 or against it. These people are neither here nor there. They will have to pay a heavy price for this on the day of voting.
He said that Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party are doing divisive politics, so I said that because of PM Modi, today Rahul Gandhi goes to Lal Chowk and eats ice cream. In the evening, when he feels like it, he goes to the restaurant on Regency Road. When his government was in power at the Centre, he could not dare to come out of the security cover of a closed room in the state.
