Bhubaneswar, 26 March (IANS). In Odisha, 12 Congress MLAs, who were staging a sit -in after suspension for seven days, were thrown out of the assembly pariser at night. He then continued his protest near the Master Canteen near Congress Bhavan. He alleged that the ruling BJP government was trying to suppress his voice.
Congress MLA Sagar Das and AICC in -charge Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ said in a conversation with IANS that the incident was like the murder of Indian democracy. He alleged that the BJP government made fun of the Constitution and destroyed democratic values. He said that women in Odisha are insecure, and the BJP government is not responding to this serious issue. He also said that the MLAs were just asking how the women of Odisha would be safe, while more than 64,000 women are missing in the state and many women have been raped.
Suspended MLA Sagar Das alleged that the BJP government openly killed democracy and did not respect the MLAs. He said that the MLAs were completely peaceful during their demonstrations, but when the police force him out, several MLAs were assaulted. He said that the police dragged the MLAs out of the assembly badly and stole their personal belongings like mobile phones and shoes.
Congress MLAs claimed that the BJP government had completely failed in terms of safety and justice of women. He also announced that the Congress party would surround the assembly the next day and perform strong protests against the government. He said that the Congress party will continue tough struggle on the issues of women’s security, justice and democracy.
Explain that these MLAs were demanding to set up a committee in the House to investigate issues related to women atrocities. The legislators were suspended for seven days, who were convicted of abusive behavior and obstructing the proceedings of the House. The MLAs were ringing and protesting in the House.
