Chandigarh, March 21 (IANS). The budget session of Punjab Assembly has started from Friday. On this occasion, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria discussed the achievements of the Punjab government. The Governor underlined the progress made by the state government in the fields of healthcare, education, law and order and agriculture. On this occasion, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema targeted the Congress party fiercely. He said, “The Congress party does not want to play the role of a creative opposition, which is why they always go out of the session. They are not interested in improving Punjab’s law and order.”
Reacting to the boycott of the Governor’s address by the Congress MLAs, Cheema said, “Today the Governor discussed the achievements of the Punjab government. We are committed to ending drug addiction and we have waged a war on it. The Congress does not have the will to accept these achievements, that is why they went out of the House.”
He challenged the Congress to join the creative debate and not go out of the session.
On the alleged attack by police personnel on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath in Patiala, he said, “The incident is being thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.”
On appointing Manish Sisodia in charge of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Punjab, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, “I congratulate Manish Sisodia. His leadership will strengthen the party and we will definitely form the government again in Punjab.”
