Haryana News Desk !!! Congress High Command released the first list of 31 candidates for Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. Congress has played safe game to avoid a situation like BJP’s rebellion. For this, 4 meetings of Congress Screening Committee were held. At the same time, 3 meetings of Central Election Committee were also held. However, earlier it was being claimed that Congress could announce the names of 55 candidates. In such a situation, let us know why Congress released the list of 31 candidates instead of a jumbo list?
There are 28 names in the first list of Congress who were MLAs earlier. Their tickets were already decided, there was no other big contender for their seats. The party has changed faces on only 3 seats. The central leadership of Congress has tried to satisfy all the factions through this list. Congress has given tickets to 24 MLAs of former CM Bhupendra Hooda and four MLAs of Kumari Selja. Apart from this, Congress has also given ticket to Chiranjiv Rao, son of former minister Captain Ajay Yadav. The party has also given tickets to four MLAs involved in the Nuh violence case and two leaders from other parties.
BJP is trying to cash in on Jat displeasure
Congress has given 9 tickets to the leaders of Jat community in the first list. Congress has fielded Bhupendra Hooda from Garhi-Sampla Kiloi, Vinesh Phogat from Julana and Jagbir Malik from Gohana. In this way, by giving tickets to 9 Jats, they have tried to capitalize on the resentment of this community towards BJP.
Even Dalit-OBC
Congress has given 9 tickets to SC community. State president Udaybhan, who lost the election from Hodal, has been made the candidate again. Earlier in the Lok Sabha elections, the party had won the SC reserved seats in Sirsa and Ambala. Let us tell you that 17 out of 90 seats in the state are reserved for SC. Apart from this, the party has also bet on 4 OBC faces. Congress has made Chiranjiv Rao from Rewari, Bishan Lal Saini from Radaur, Rao Dan Singh from Mahendragarh and Surendra Panwar from Sonipat as candidates. Congress has tried to give impetus to BJP’s strategy of non-Jat politics by giving tickets to OBCs and Dalits in the first list.
Bet on 3 Muslims in the first list!
Along with this, Congress has also bet on 3 Muslim faces in the first list. Maman Khan from Ferozepur Jhirka, Mohammad Ilyas from Panhina and Aftab Ahmed from Nuh. Whereas there is not a single Muslim in the list of 67 candidates of BJP. Apart from this, the party has also given importance to Punjabi, Sikh and Brahmin faces in the first list.
