New Delhi, September 1 (IANS). Congress has released the list of its 40 star campaigners for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. This list includes the names of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
Voting for the first phase in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on September 18. The Congress party released a list of 40 star campaigners for the first phase on Saturday. The list released by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal includes the names of Jairam Ramesh, Ambika Soni, Ajay Maken, Salman Khurshid and Kanhaiya Kumar.
Apart from this, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, former Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot have also got a place in this list.

Let us tell you that elections for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will be held in three phases. Voting will be held in three phases on 18 September, 25 September and 1 October, while the counting of votes will take place on 8 October. Congress has formed an alliance with the National Conference in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir since 2014, as Article 370 was repealed in 2019. Since then, assembly elections have not been held in Jammu and Kashmir.
