Bhopal, 8 April (IANS). The Congress on Tuesday, stating that the petition filed by the Supreme Court has been dismissed by the Supreme Court, said that the party will take to the road to get the OBCs its rights to the OBCs.
Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jeetu Patwari issued a statement saying that the Supreme Court has given a big verdict in favor of OBC by rejecting the petition against the OBC community in the state. This historic decision to approve the decision to increase the OBC reservation of the Kamal Nath government is welcome.
Describing the BJP government as anti -OBC, he said that despite the clear decisions of the High Court and the Supreme Court, the government is plotting to deprive the OBC community of their rights.
Patwari termed the BJP’s “Talamatol’s policy” as a deception of the people of Madhya Pradesh and warned that if the government did not implement the decision soon, the Congress party would take to the streets with the OBC community and start a wide movement against the BJP. Patwari said, “The Congress party has always fought over 27 percent reservation for the OBC community in Madhya Pradesh. It is the only gift of the Congress party that the system of reservation was strengthened to ensure social justice and equal opportunities for the OBC community. In the year 2020, the Congress government had taken a historic decision to increase the OBC reservation from 14 percent to 27 percent, but as soon as the BJP government was formed, the BJP government was put in a cold.”
He said that at that time a conspiracy was hatched to snatch the rights of the OBC community. Questioning the intention of the BJP government, he said, “The High Court and the Supreme Court have made it clear in their decisions that there is no legal hurdle in giving 27 percent reservation to the OBC. The Madhya Pradesh High Court gave its verdict in this matter on 28 January 2025, and now the Supreme Court also rejected the petition on 7 April 2025. Despite this, the BJP government is running away from implementing this decision. “
The state Congress president warned the BJP government that if the government does not take steps in this direction soon, the Congress will take to the streets with the OBC community.
